Danielle is a Graphic Designer who has developed a love for all things ‘pattern’.
Having worked as a commercial Graphic Designer for decades, these days Dani is working full time on designs that inspire her. She has a soft spot for mid-century architecture and furniture which often flows through to her designs. The art she creates often has a humorous twist.
Dani loves losing herself in a design and hours upon hours can disappear before she comes back to reality. Often her ideas for designs are researched and planned out well before pen goes to paper, but some of her favourite designs started from a doodle and developed a life of their own.
Dani enjoys learning and trying new techniques and styles, and is always experimenting with new technology. Her art is created mostly using her iPad and pencil, and like any normal sketch pad, it travels with her wherever she goes, just in case there is an opportunity to draw. Drawing on her commercial background, the designs are usually taken into photoshop or illustrator for the finishing touches.
When she’s not engrossed in pattern design, she’s pursuing her other love – Cycling.
She loves long distance touring and has cycled across Australia from West to East and South to North, including crossing the Nullarbor and cycling to Uluru. She finds that thousands of miles alone with only your thoughts and the occasional passing road train. As well as being a grounding experience this provides endless inspiration for designs.
